Hollyoaks’ Bronagh misses out on gong thumbnailColeraine’s Hollyoaks actress Bronagh Waugh missed out on the Best Newcomer award at the National Television Awards on Wednesday night.

COLERAINE'S Hollyoaks actress, Bronagh Waugh, missed out on the Best Newcomer Award at the National Television Awards on Wednesday night, but the popular rising star was still all smiles as she sent home a special message to her mum.
Bronagh, who plays the bubbly 'tart with a heart', Cheryl Brady, in the popular Channel Four soap was the only female in the final shortlist of nominees with Coronation Street's Craig Gazey (Graeme Proctor) taking home the prize ahead of Emmerdale's James Sutton (Ryan Lamb), EastEnders' Neil McDermott (Ryan Malloy).
And when the cameras focussed on Bronagh, she gave a little wave to reveal a penned 'Love You Mum' message to her mother. The awards were held in the O2 Arena in London, which were hosted by X-Factor presenter Dermot O'Leary, where Coronation Street took home the Best Serial Drama.
It's been a fantastic nine months for Bronagh, a former pupil of Millburn Primary School. Since starting in her role as Cheryl Brady, the 26-year-old has won the hearts of people throughout the United Kingdom, as she has carved out a name for herself in Britain's popular teen soap.
